Testimonials

"When I listened to the CEO of Sungevity giving a presentation, I realized they had a great business model. Our neighborhood was getting quotes from other solar firms at very high costs, but we went with Sungevity because they offered a simple approach to getting an affordable high-quality system for our home. The people were friendly and helpful, and went the extra mile to ensure we had a great experience. Our system works flawlessly, and takes care of 100% of our electricity needs. We expect to be close to net zero for the year. I would recommend Sungevity to anyone who desires a high quality system at an unbelievable price."
-Michael and Julie P.
"We decided to go solar because of the obvious benefits to the planet. We are thrilled to see how much clean energy we can produce every day. What we didn't expect was how our solar panels would be catalysts for conversations with neighbors. We've literally become friends with neighbors whom we'd never met before because the panels gave us a reason to talk. We had a great experience with Sungevity."
-Amy S. and Rich F.
"Our experience with Sungevity was excellent! When we looked at quotes for solar for our home, Sungevity's was the least expensive choice, and the only company that gave us different system size options. The installation was done sooner than promised and the PG&E representative who came to put in our new meter complimented the work on the solar system. We now have the pleasure of watching our meter run backward!"
-Linc and Suzie, Mountain Ranch, CA
"My partner and I decided it was time to replace the roof, and try to do something about the growing energy crisis. [The Sungevity] website is super easy to use, and really cool. Starting the process is beyond easy, and once you go through their site and click ‘submit,’ the ball is rolling. Sungevity even completed the install while we were out of town on vacation! A great system, a competitive price, an amazing team, and an emerging local company ready to make a difference. Thanks Sungevity!"
-James and Nadia, Oakland CA
"If you are considering a solar installation but are concerned about the fragility of your roof, as I certainly was, Sungevity is the company for you. Sungevity’s personnel were extraordinarily careful, using scaffolding and boards to reduce traffic on the fragile shingles. They preserved my roof, taking much longer on the job than they ordinarily do. In short, I have difficulty imagining that it could have been done any better."

"Your processes are so well-tuned, no hassle learning online and signing up with e-signatures was my favorite."

“I thought it was fantastic. I even recommended them to friends. I would say that I liked their approach to reducing the complexity of the entire process for the customer. Everything they did made it easy for me. I didn't need to do an onsite survey, I didn't need to apply for paperwork, and I didn't have to organize onsite inspections once the job was done. They handled all of that. I didn't have to do much. I just wrote a check and they came and did it.”

–STEVEN J.

“I thought they were great. They made me feel really confident and secure about what I was buying and how they would care for me afterwards. Confidence and trust, I liked their people skills, from the salesperson down to the technicians who showed up. They kept in touch and showed up when said they would. They were tidy and nice.”

–CAROL P.

“Fantastic customer service, the staff was really helpful. They had a very fast turnaround time on answers to my questions. They made the incentive paperwork extremely easy to understand and sign. I liked the fact that they were training a developmentally disabled person for their job candidate work force. They have a really terrific business model and after purchase service.”

–POLLY S.

“They did what they said they were going to do. They were efficient. They respected the property when they installed it. They seemed to be straight shooters. They were great about all of the issues with PG&E.”

–BARBARA B.

“Everyone on the team knew exactly what they were doing. More importantly, they knew that the customer didn't understand this process. I'm a degreed electrical engineer, so I understand these things, but they explained it very well. They knew how to do everything and how it affected me. Their explanation was flawless.”

–LAWRENCE R.

“I have recommended them to several people already. I like their flexibility and the overall quality of their service.”

–TOM V.

“There were several things [I liked]. They were personable to deal with. They accurately located the system. They paid quite a bit of attention to detail. They made absolutely sure I was satisfied. They just did a great job.”

–MICHAEL P.

“There were a lot of things I liked about them. The contractor worked with me for the best installation for my house. The account manager was patient and sent paperwork two or three times if I didn't send it back right away. During the whole process, I felt they were there.”

–JOSH C.

“I appreciated the customer support at the beginning of the process. They helped us understand the advantages of the solar installation and the payback period. During the installation, I had a very good relationship with the installer. I felt like he was very communicative. He asked a lot of questions about my preferences. I felt confident in the work he was doing.”

I can only confirm what every other post has said---Sungevity was an absolute pleasure to work with from beginning to end. They handled absolutely everything, and did so pleasantly and professionally. Everyone on their team is fantastic.

Not to mention, with the SF, PG&E, and federal rebates (which have been bumped up for systems installed in 2009, to 30% of the total system cost, with no cap), my $13K system will end up having costed me a few hundred dollars once I file my 2009 tax returns. I'll make that money back in a few months of electricity use. Basically, if you live in SF, own your place, and can get the rebate, you're making a huge mistake if you don't get solar. Environmentally and economically, it's the easiest decision ever!

Even if you can't get the SF rebate, the PG&E and federal rebates are quite generous, and the system will save you a lot of money every year---in addition to helping the environment. Sungevity is the way to go.

Not sure if anyone saw Sungevity at the Web 2.0 Expo, but they are an absolutely amazing company with a brilliant idea.

So Sungevity provides homeowners with "Solar Estimates" where they use a web 2.0 based technology to give homeowners estimates of what it would cost them to go solar. They have a super cool website and take you through a really simple step by step process that is extremely helpful for someone like me who doesn't even own a landline or pick up the phone to call Comcast ever.

If you're new to this California "green" thing like me (a new york state resident), and don't exactly understand why/how to go solar, Sungevity explains everything for you on the site. It shows you how much it would cost, how much you would get in return and exactly how to put your home to work for you while cutting your bills and doing your part for the environment.

The idea of solar is so simple and I think the real reason people don't go solar is because they don't know enough about it.  Sungevity does the leg work for the customers and makes it easy for everyone to go solar all with a few clicks.

Check out their site.

Huge fan.

A flawless experience. This is a company that cares and gets it right.  Everyone I dealt with was terrific and made the process painless.   Considering the relative complexity of the job, getting it completely right is no small feat.

Our home was one of the pilot homes for the Berkeley First Solar program.  This added potential complication since this is the first time the program has been used.  No matter, it was still executed perfectly with Sungevity handling all the paperwork for the rebates, etc.

To give you an idea of the process (and many places things could get messed up, but didn't):

  1. Sungevity's online tool uses Google Earth to do the initial system estimate.  Works great, and fast.
  2. We had some additional exposures that needed the in-person estimate so they came out and looked at everything - we ended up sizing a system that should handle about 90% of our electric needs.
  3. Reams of parperwork - Rebate applications, building permit forms, etc.  They handled everything, we just reviewed and signed.
  4. Installation - Took 4 days with a crew of 4-6.  They were great to work with and considering all the work on the roof, surprisingly low impact.
  5. More Paperwork - Rebate forms, Berkeley First, etc.  All handled easily  without a hitch.
  6. PG&E interconnect - the last step before you meter spin backwards.  Sungevity sends PG&E all the paperwork etc.

Great work, great people.  Highly Recommended!

A couple a weeks ago, Sungevity was on NBC.  I thought they had some pretty nifty technology, so I decided to check them out.

It took me 5 minutes to get a quote and they emailed me back within a day. It had a pic of my building, and a breakdown of the financial savings.  Since I lived in SF, I qualified for a rebate, and a possible 20% return of investment -- which in this economy, would be very welcome. I worked with Carrie and found her very responsive and able to answer all my questions.

Got our install (in the city) done a couple of weeks back, PG&E should be hooking the panels up to the grid within a week.  Highly recommended, these folks make it cheap and EASY to add solar to your home ... best part is they take care of filing for all the rebates, etc - all you need to pay, at day's end, is the full system price *minus* all the rebates (which, in my case, was ~4700 ... after the fed tax credit, this goes down to an insane $1500 - this is the full cost for a system that will cover ~1/3 of our electricity usage!)
