At Sungevity, your privacy is important to us. This Privacy Policy describes how we collect and use the information you provide us on this website. By accessing the website or utilizing our services you agree to be bound by the Terms and Conditions as are in effect at such time. In this Sungevity Privacy Policy, "Personal Information" means information that could actually identify a person such as your name, email address, IP address, or phone number. It doesn’t include information edited so as to not identify a particular person or website user. Additionally, when you request a Solar iQuote, because we use Microsoft Virtual Earth to provide this service, the Microsoft Privacy Policy located at http://privacy.microsoft.com/en-us/fullnotice.aspx and supplemental MapPoint Web & Virtual Earth Service Privacy Policy at http://privacy.microsoft.com/en-us/maps.aspx will also apply.
How we protect your information
We protect the security of the information you submit to us with a variety of robust physical and electronic procedures and we have put into place precautions to protect such information from loss and misuse. If you choose to pay your deposit online, you must use a secure socket layer enabled browser because we use industry standard secure socket layer encryption to protect the confidentiality of your information while it is transmitted over the Internet. Any credit card information used to pay a deposit online is deleted once the deposit transaction is completed.
How and why we collect information
When you visit the Sungevity website, we collect and store the name of the domain and host from which you accessed the site, the IP address of the computer you used, the browser software and operating system you used, the date and time you accessed the site, the IP address you accessed it from, cookie information, and all pages within the Sungevity website which you access. We may put small data files called "cookies" on your computer. One kind of cookie identifies you as you move through our site and makes it easier for you to view various site pages. If you request a Solar iQuote, we will ask you to give us Personal Information (such as your name, email address and phone number) as well as the name of your utility and your electricity usage in order that we prepare a personalized Solar iQuote for your home. As such, when you login to our website to view your Solar iQuote, we will recognize you as a returning user.
When you request a Solar iQuote you will receive emails from us which will include a password-protected link to access your Solar iQuote and we will also email you information about pricing and financing, rebates and tax credits and answer any questions you may have. If you purchase a system, then you will receive emails regarding payment, customer support and installation scheduling. We may also collect information about your transactions with us, the features of any order for product you place with us, and any specific instructions you give regarding a purchase or service. We may collect information from you in other ways, such as when you correspond with us, participate in an online survey or contact an installer in our network of preferred installers or customer support team. - In order to provide a Solar iQuote to you in certain geographies, we will share your Personal Information with one or more of our Preferred Installers, all of whom have agreed to process your Personal Information based on our instructions and in compliance with this Privacy Policy, our Terms and Condition, and other appropriate confidentiality and security measures.
- Similarly, if you request a Solar iQuote for a commercial property, we will share your Personal Information with one or more of our Affiliate Installers, all of whom have agreed to process your Personal Information based on our instructions and in compliance with this Privacy Policy, our Terms and Condition, and other appropriate confidentiality and security measures.
