Sungevity Appoints Jan Slaghekke as Chief Global Officer

Sungevity, Inc., the largest private solar company in the U.S. and a leader in the global solar market, today announced the appointment of Jan Slaghekke as Chief Global Officer, a new position for the company. Slaghekke is responsible for managing Sungevity’s expansion and strategic relationships in key markets outside the U.S., including its partnership with E.On as they work collaboratively to enter the German market. The German launch will grow Sungevity’s European footprint, building on its business in the Netherlands where it launched a partnership with E.On in June 2015.

Prior to joining Sungevity, Slaghekke held executive positions around the globe with BP plc for almost two decades, including the management of BP Alternative Energy's Wind and Thermal Power business across Europe and Asia. Earlier in his career, Slaghekke advised Vestas Wind Systems in the area of organizational restructuring. He holds a bachelor’s degree in economics from Bucknell University in the U.S., and an international MBA from the Rotterdam School of Management, Erasmus University in the Netherlands.
